IF you work for a non-profit company, then you dont hope to become financially successful in it. You volunteer because you want to make this world better for many people around you. The story that we will tell today is about someone who became very passionate about helping others that in the end she gained great success.
A 7 year old girl names Mariah is the main character of the story we are about to tell. Mariah had a fairly comfortable childhood, with both parents working hard to give her and her brother a very decent life. Like a typical average family,
Going home from shopping, Mariah was astonished to see a poor man wearing filthy rags on the street. The sadness in his eyes was more than Mariah could take that she had to ask her mother to buy food for the man. Hungrily the man ate the pizza with thankfulness in his lips, not having for many days.
Something began to change in Mariahs heart through that incident. She grew up bringing the passion of helping the poor in her heart. The passion in her to help others led her to ask her parents to volunteer in a soup kitchen. Together with her parents, she volunteered and participated in other programs that were geared to helping the less fortunate people in her city.
Since at that time Mariah was using her parents money to give away to the poor, her parents decided to tell her that true giving comes from giving what you have and not what somebody else has. Mariah understood what her parents were saying so at a very young age, she got a job waiting tables at a restaurant.
Half of her earning were given to the poor and she saved the other half. Continuing her volunteers work, she now uses her own money to buy gifts to give away to children on Christmas.
It was one of her teachers who encouraged Mariah to write a blog on the things she was doing for her community so that she can inspire others to do the same. Mariah had no idea how to start a blog but with much difficulty gave it a shot. It is a tough thing to promote something you are not an expert at. Mariah, the blogger, was then born. Contributions to her cause started pouring in. Today, her blog earns her six figures a year of which half goes to her favorite charity.
