The whole 'you didn't know it happened because we backed time up' gag was alright for the season three closer (bit of "it was all a dream / Bobby was in the shower" sort of stuff, but... okay, fine), but here we have something that looks twice the size of the actual ship almost crown the Palace, and... nothing to explain away that...? As for the 'crises' as we went... not enough build-up, really. Ergo, the money shot wasn't much either. I did care to an extent about The Doctor not even getting a chance to have a companion and she's already snuffed out (and the slow-mo stuff was good for that), but by the time he was screwing around with cables and shrieking about being able to "bring her back"... no. A good set-up for the 'release' would have been for him to merely consider the attempt, then stop and release her. A softer and more tear-filled denouement. The 'rich guy' was under used by far, unless they merely wanted to mimic the James Cameron tripe, but... who cared? Not me. And what's The Doctor doing enjoying kissing a girl? Okay, he's not gay, but he's not heterosexual either! He's just... The Doctor! Bah. 6 to 8 out of ten, depending on how good the claret was during the broadcast viewing.
